Early one morning as I walked my dog, I noticed a new "weed" growing in my flowerbed off the patio. I didn't pull it immediately. Instead, I watched it grow day by day. When I saw the bud form I couldn't wait to see what was hidden inside. Then it happened. I came home from work and found this little beauty. The blossom measured about 3" inches across. I researched it and found that it was a wild sunflower!
By the way, if you look closely, you'll see a small spider hiding behind the bottom petal.
